Civic Square

Evan Barraclough was born in New Zealand in 1953. He has been painting since the age of four years, whenever he could afford the time and the materials. Whilst at Victoria University, Barraclough spent his weekends applying his experience to produce cityscapes of Wellington buildings in and around town. He worked periodically from 1970 to 1990 enabling him to continue to paint. Barraclough mainly works with gouache on paper but also enjoys acrylic on canvas as a medium. His works are fresh and vibrant, often depicting famous views of the beautiful Wellington harbour, city and historical buildings and landmarks.
