Break Through

Doreen McNeill began painting beautiful beaches and water when living in the Bahamas. Since moving to New Zealand in 1987 she has perfected various screen printing techniques. More recently Doreen has devoted her time and energy to a more contemporary approach to express her view of the environment. As an emotional painter she prefers to start abstractly using colour, shape and texture to suit her mood. There then comes a time when the work takes on a life of its own which requires discipline to convey to the viewer some of the magical pleasure the artist has had in creating the painting.
