Flying Keruru

Multi award winning Monique Endt has always been an artist. To create things is all she has ever wanted to do. She trained at Whitecliffe Art School, before working as a graphic artist. Her family kept her busy up until five years ago she picked up a brush and started to paint again. She stared by illustrating and writing a childrens book called Lucky Pateke the story of a very rare New Zealand Brown Teal. Her love of plants, trees, birds and water show throughout her work. This is never more apparent than in her latest stunning West Coast landscape paintings and in her intriguing Tree Ladies twisting on the canvas. You can feel the atmosphere in these large pieces painted in warm subtle colours. Monique likes paintings in which she presents two or three meanings or scenes in one. Cycles of life, Personality, close ups of creation or just capturing the atmosphere of a place she has both explored and loved. Monique exhibits around the North Island, from Parua Bay in Northland, to shows and competitions around Auckland city. She runs her own gallery at Landsendt subtropical gardens in Oratia, West Auckland.
