Andrew Duncan explains his way of working as a crossover between painting, engineering and computer design. Although he continues utilising his training in sculpture, performance and installation art from Sydney College of the Arts, to produce furniture and home-ware, Duncan has been drawn more and more into painting. For me, painting is really just an exercise in problem solving and aesthetics. I enjoy it because I get to use both sides of my brain. . Andrew's current works are the development of a long running series in which he has explored the circular theme in a variety of different media. Paint allows him to correct the visual abnormalities that arise between computer-generated designs and the finished large-scale paintings due to the effects of scale and different weights of colour.
