Tracey has been painting and exhibiting regularly now for several years. Her studies into colour led her to start making work and devoting more time to painting. Her background includes design, advertising, commission work and exhibitions. She has been exploring the inherent movement of colour, which comes out of the interplay of light and darkness, and the boundary in between things, and is continually experimenting with new ways to express and reveal these ideas. Though her work is not intended to be representational, it can be suggestive of landscape at times. Using veils of translucent paint, colours rise up to the surface to suggest content. She is currently undergoing Art Therapy training part-time,alongside devoting herself more fully to painting. She works out of her studio in West Auckland, where she lives with her family.
