Cynthia Taylor

Cynthia Taylor was born in 1947 and was tutored in painting and drawing at Auckland Society of Arts from 1973 to 1975. She completed her studies in printmaking at ASA in 1989. She has been painting and printmaking professionally with numerous solo exhibitions since 1977. Taylor draws her inspiration from the vibrancy of the Auckland waterfront, Waiheke Island, and the many islands of the Hauraki Gulf. She employs bright, vibrant colours in her work to reflect the contrasting intensity of New Zealand light. Taylors work has been published on posters and on many Pacific Way Magazine covers and Readers Digest covers. Her work is present in many collections and commissions including those of Air New Zealand, Villa Maria Vineyards, Auckland City Council, Montana Wines, McDonald NZ, ASB Bank, Centra Hotel, and Quay Towers, Auckland.
