Lawrence Leitch

Lawrence Leitch, born in Wellington 1958, comes from an artistic family background, his father is also an artist. Lawrence attended Wellington Polytechnic School of Design, studying design and commercial art. He went on to work as a commercial artist while fostering his other interest which was music. Lawrence spent time in the United States studying and observing trends in art and on returning to New Zealand his interest in serigraph printing resulted in wide success as a printmaker. In 1995 he won a gold medal in the New Zealand Pride in Print Awards. He has since moved onto composing meticulously detailed original landscapes in watercolour and acrylic. A master of light, form and space - Lawrence succeeds in capturing the unique feeling of New Zealand landscapes.
