Russell Jackson

Russell Jackson is a well know New Zealand artist who works full time as a painter and printmaker. He studied art history and graphic design at Auckland University and AUT. His subject matter usually reflects the landscape of the west coast and the bird life that inhabits that area. He has studied the flora and fauna of four continents. Over the last twenty years Jackson has exhibited in New Zealand, Australia, London and Nairobi. He has also expanded his focus on wild life to encompass writing. In 1984 Jackson published Wildlife New Zealand An Artists Impression. This proved so popular, it was reprinted in 1989. Russells work is represented in several collections including those of the University of Auckland, Hong Kong University, Fletcher Challenge NZ Ltd, Air New Zealand, Coopers and Lybrand and Russell McVeagh.
