The One That Got Away

Brain Dahlberg was born in 1944 and became interested in art in early childhood. He tutored at Wanganui Technical College during the late 1960's and early 1970's Painting full time during the 1970's and 1980's he developed a personal style which he refers to as regional surrealism. Working in oil Dahlberg depicts the New Zealand landscape in a unique, stylised manner with trademark texturing of the sky. There is a calm sense of spaciousness in his paintings, a sense of stillness and peace.
