Katie Thomas

Katie Thomas was born in Lincoln, Canterbury, and attended the University of Canterbury, graduating with a BFA in painting in 1994. She has been exhibiting regularly throughout New Zealand since 2001, returning to complete her Masters with distinction in 2010. Thomas has work in private and public collections both locally and internationally, including the Christchurch Art Gallery, Te Puna O Waiwhetu, and the James Wallace Arts Trust. She loosely describes her work as abstract landscape, taking inspiration from changes in light, colour and atmosphere in the natural world around her.
